Verdict. The product in this comparison that is easiest to get a first useful answer out of, and the one that makes it hardest to keep working after the evaluation ends. Every other product here leaves an evaluator something that does not expire. This one does not, and for a buyer whose interest is real but whose budget is next year, that is the whole difference.

Strengths

  • One identical interface across desktop and browser, so a model does not have to be rebuilt or reformatted to be opened somewhere else
  • Documented generation of models directly from mined process data, which shortens the distance between the real process and a model of it
  • A deep set of published healthcare templates, backed by a long record of published work in that sector
  • Consistently described by reviewers as the easiest product in this category to become productive in

Limits

  • The only product in this comparison with no permanent free edition at all, so evaluation is limited to a timed trial
  • No native macOS application: a Mac user works through the browser version, or runs the desktop product under virtualization software such as VMware Fusion or Parallels, which the publisher's system requirements page names
  • No price is published, and reviewers repeatedly report additional charges beyond the base license
  • The publisher's pages list discrete event, agent based, continuous and hybrid modeling but do not use the term system dynamics for the product, so the multimethod row reads as not stated

This assessment is built from published vendor documentation, product materials and pricing pages, current at the verification date shown. We do not claim hands on testing of the products covered. Weighted total 72 of 100.

In their own words

Presented by its publisher as the fast route from a question to a decision, with the same interface on the desktop and in a browser.

How each criterion scored

  1. Modeling capability

    15 out of 20

How much of a real process the model can represent: routing, resources and shifts, queueing, batching, statistical distributions and control logic.

A capable and well documented discrete event engine covering routing, resources and queueing for service and manufacturing work. Discrete event is the documented core, and the published material does not go as deep on materials and batching as the products built around those problems.

  2. Ease of learning

    18 out of 20

How long it takes to reach a first useful model. Onboarding, templates, and how much scripting the product makes unavoidable.

The strongest position in this comparison on time to a first working model. A published self serve academy, productised short workshops, and consistent reviewer agreement that it is the least demanding product here to pick up.

  3. Results, analysis and experimentation

    15 out of 20

Depth of reporting, bottleneck analysis, scenario comparison, repeated runs, and structured experiments.

Documented scenario comparison, animated runs, and optimization through an integration with a third party engine. Aimed at getting a decision made in a room rather than at depth of statistical reporting. The publisher's pricing answers say the optimization integration is open to every subscription and is arranged by contacting its team.

  4. Pricing transparency and total cost

    3 out of 15

Whether a price is published at all, what training, renewal and hosting add to it, and what the free tier really allows.

The weakest position in this comparison. No published price, third party figures at the upper end, reviewers reporting bolt on charges, and no permanent free edition to evaluate against. There is no way to establish what it costs without contacting sales.

  5. Visualization and stakeholder communication

    8 out of 10

How well a finished run persuades somebody who did not build the model. A three dimensional view is one route to that, and not the only one: an animated run, a heatmap showing when a queue builds, or a chart ranking every step by what it costs can each do the same job at a fraction of the effort to produce.

Documented animation of workflows and dynamic charts. No publisher page we read states a three dimensional view, and the publisher's own blog of February 2025 argues for two dimensional simulation as faster and more efficient for analytical work, so that row reads as not stated. The browser version means a result can be shown to somebody without asking them to install anything first.

  6. Platform and deployment

    8 out of 10

Which operating systems are supported, whether it runs in a browser, and how teams share and govern work.

Windows desktop plus a browser version carrying the same interface, which is a genuine strength. It is not a native macOS application, so a Mac user works in a browser or under virtualization software.

  7. Learning resources and support

    5 out of 5

Documentation, training, an active community, and academic access.

A published self serve academy, a productised workshop program, an ongoing podcast and academic pricing. The learning material is thorough and easy to find.

Pricing is not published

No price appears on the publisher's own site. A quote request is required. Reviewers on third party sites describe additional charges for capabilities beyond the base license.

Third party sources report figures around Third party listings report figures around five thousand per user, and separately in the range of six to eight thousand per user per year. The two figures may describe different license terms. We have not been able to confirm either with the publisher.. We have not been able to confirm that, and it is reported here as an unverified third party figure rather than as a price. The source that carried it.

No free tier is published for this product.
